The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh; Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu; and Director of the Vietnam Agriculture Science Institute Nguyen Hong Son.

During the working session, Son briefed his guests on agricultural products of Vietnam’s strength.

He said that this is a good chance for the two sides to share information, thus enhancing cooperation on science and technology in the agricultural field, towards promoting solidarity, friendship and cooperation in scientific research and economic development.

For his part, Ri showed his interest in Vietnam's farming techniques applied in the cultivation of food crops such as rice, corn and potato.

He expressed his hope that Vietnam will further support his country in developing high-yielding rice varieties.

Deputy Minister Doanh said Vietnam looks forward to welcoming more DPRK scientists to Vietnam for research, thus strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

As scheduled, the delegation will visit the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) and the Dan Hoai Cooperative in Dan Phuong district on the same day’s afternoon as part activities of its working programme in Vietnam.
