DPM meets with Venezuelan President

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh separately met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelan FM Delcy Rodriguez, and Iraqi FM Ibrahim Al-Shaiker Al-Jafari on the sidelines of the 17th Non-Aligned Movement Summit on September 18 (local time) in Margarita, Venezuela.

Deputy PM Minh congratulated Venezuela’s successful organization of the 17th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Porlamar, Venezuela's Margarita Island while meeting with the Venezuelan President and FM. He was convinced that Venezuela would successfully accomplish the role as the Chair of the NAM in the next term.

Mr. Minh was convinced that under the leadership of President Maduro, Venezuelan people would overcome difficulties and develop the country.

Both sides affirmed to spare no effort to cement and deepen the bilateral ties especially in strategic fields such as agriculture, energy, and petroleum.

The Deputy PM suggested President Maduro attached importance to raising two-way trade turnover.

They took the occasion to discuss regional and international issues of concern including ASEAN and the East Sea.

Meeting with Iraqi FM Al-Shaiker Al-Jafari, Deputy PM Minh praised the traditional ties between the two countries and hoped that Iraq would early stabilize the domestic situation thus promoting the bilateral relations
