Deputy PM lauds Vietnamese expats’ contributions to homeland

Vietnamese nationals in foreign countries across the world, including those in Romania, have made significant contributions to the socio-economic development in the homeland, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

In a meeting with the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Romania on July 6 as part of his official visit to the Southeast European country, Minh noticed that Vietnam has enjoyed robust economic growth in the past time while the country’s role and position in the international arena have been elevated.

The Vietnamese Party and State always pay due attention to overseas Vietnamese people, he said, expressing his hope that the Vietnamese nationals in Romania will further efforts to contribute to the development of the host nation while serving as a bridge to develop the friendship between the two countries.

Vice Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in Romania Pham Duy Hung said that over 1,000 Vietnamese nationals have stabilised their livelihoods here, enhanced solidarity, and joined in many activities held by the Vietnamese Embassy.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Minh also applauded the embassy for fulfilling entrusted missions, thus enhancing bilateral ties with the host nation in various fields, including politics, economy, diplomacy and culture. 

Particularly, the embassy has organised various cultural activities as well as Vietnamese language classes for Vietnamese expats while promptly carrying out citizen protection measures, he added.
