Central localities enhance technological application amid pandemic

Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the central province of Thua Thien – Hue has applied technological advances and strictly followed the preventive measures, which helped the province prevent the pandemic and control all infection cases entering the province from other localities.
  • National COVID-19 death toll climbs to 54
  • Unique transformer booths with anti COVID-19 paintings in Hanoi

The people in Thua Thien – Hue can learn information about the pandemic as well as preventive measures easily by visiting the official portal of the Provincial People’s Committee and the website of the Hue smart city monitoring and control center as well as the fanpage of the two websites on Facebook.

The mobile application called Hue-S also helps connect between the authority and the people, as it provides the locals with all useful and timely information and preventive measures.

Hotline 19001075 is also efficiently operational to receive all reports from people regarding the pandemic.

So far, the hotline has received over 21,000 calls and given useful advice to local people. Meanwhile, the local authorities has also introduced another mobile application to visitors to the province so visitors can declare their health conditions via the app.

Additionally, the province has also put into use other applications of remote medical counseling, via which doctors classify patients and assess patients’ risks of COVID infections. Thanks to the applications, the local authorities and medical sector has successfully managed the local pandemic situation and promptly track infections.

In the central coastal city of Da Nang, 12 pandemic checkpoints on the gateways to the city have been established. All vehicles and people crossing the checkpoints must present their health declarations and travelling records. To facilitate the work of the relevant forces and save time for people at the checkpoints, the city has launched an application, allowing people to use their mobile devices to make health declarations.

Back to May when Da Nang was a pandemic hotspot, the local authorities launched a plan to help the people go shopping conveniently and safely by providing them with a QR code on their mobile phones. The application of QR codes has helped the local authorities promptly track suspicious infected persons.
