According to the Brigade 146, along with thousands of gifts prepared by the Ministry of National Defence and Naval Zone 4, the programme “Border spring – Island Tet 2019” received VND 700 million (~US $30,000) from the Fund for Truong Sa-Hoang Sa, and VND 150 million (~US $6,500) from the Youth Club for Homeland Sea and Islands.

Vice President of the Youth Club for Homeland Sea and Islands Ho Liem said that this is the fourth year that the club has joined the programme to support Truong Sa soldiers and people. In addition to gifts, the club will send 20,000 letters and New Year cards of people across the country to the soldiers.

Thousands of gifts and hundreds of tonnes of essential goods have been prepared for soldiers and people in the Truong Sa archipelago and other islands on the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

The central province of Khanh Hoa as well as many organisations and individuals contributed gifts, essential goods, rice, and confectionery to ensure that the soldiers and people on the islands do not miss out on enjoying the year’s biggest traditional festival.
