The performance will open with the classical ballet Serenade choreographed by George Balanchine to Tchaikovsky’s music.

It will be staged at the Opera House by French dancer Chloé Glemot, who was trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School between 1996 and 2003.

Glemot worked as a professional dancer for the American Ballet Theater in New York, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal and English National Ballet in London.

In 2006, she completed teacher training at the National Dance Centre in Paris, and has taught ballet for children and adults at conservatories and schools in Paris.

French choreographer Julien Guerin’s contemporary ballet Dépaysement will continue the night.

The work, which Guerin created for HBSO’s artists, is based on the music of Chopin, Satie, Faure, Beethoven, Albioni and Giazotto.

It describes a spiritual journey of a young woman who has a dream of sharing her feelings with other people.

It will feature dancers Tran Hoang Yen, Ho Phi Diep and Glemot.

Guerin began studying dance at the La Rochelle Conservatory in France when he was nine years old, and completed training at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music and Dance.

After earning a degree as a ballet teacher from National Dance Centre in Paris in 2005, he joined several ballets, including the English National Ballet and the Ballet of the National Opera of Bordeaux.

He has created and choreographed ballets such as Somina Vertigo and Beaudelaireans Souls.

The performance will end with ballet Ravel’s Bolero choreographed by Maurice Béjart Ravel and staged by Glemot.

The dance will feature solo artist Sung A Lung, who won the Gold Medal in the 2016 National Young Talent Competition with his original dance Ru Dem (Night Lullaby), and 20 male dancers.

Ballet with Tchaikovsky and Ravel was presented at the Opera House last August and received a warm welcome from local and foreign audiences.
