ASEAN 2020 Subcommittee for Security and Health convenes 7th meeting

PSNews - The Subcommittee for Security and Health under the National ASEAN 2020 Committee recently opened the 7th meeting to review its task performance and roll out a new working plan for the 37th ASEAN Summit.

Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Subcommittee, chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Major General To An Xo, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and Standing Member of the Subcommittee, briefed the delegates on its task performance since the 6th meeting, as well as the new working plan for the 37th ASEAN Summit.

At the meeting, representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Transport and various police units under the Ministry of Public Security, reviewed key aspects of their work.

Members of the subcommittee also discussed their advantages and difficulties while implementing their assigned tasks, and drew out the directions to implement their assigned tasks in the remaining time of 2020.

In conclusion, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam recognized and praised the high sense of responsibility, effort and proactive working spirit of all sub-committee members in implementing the key tasks for the ASEAN Year of 2020. 

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam asked members of the Subcommittee to review the working plans and direct relevant units to take drastic measures to fulfill their assigned tasks as scheduled.

He also urged all relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security to pay due attention to protecting absolute security and safety for the Summit and other activities in Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020.
