Anti-Corruption Central Steering Committee reveals results of asset recovery in Hanoi

PSNews - The working delegation 2 of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption on January 15 had a meeting with the Standing Board of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee to report results of its inspection of the recovery of appropriated and lost assets in cases of corruption and economic crimes in Hanoi.

The meeting was co-chaired by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Vice Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Mr. Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee.

The working delegation 2 made public its draft report at the meeting in accordance with Plan 192-KH/BCĐTW of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption. The report showed the results of the leadership and direction of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee in retaking illegal appropriated and lost assets. 

It also mentioned the results of the recovery of illegally-appropriated and lost assets in different procedural stages, the results of the handling of complaints and denunciations and law violations in the recovery of illegally-appropriated and lost assets, and the results of the coordination of judicial agencies and related agencies in the recovery of illegally-appropriated and lost assets.

It also included lessons drawn from the recovery of illegally-appropriated and lost assets in the locality, as well as proposed  the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and relevant Central agencies to soon complete legal documents on property declaration, distrainment and freezing of suspects’ assets, execution of civil judgments, sharing of data, authority of prosecuting agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam highlighted that the working delegation with effective support of the city's agencies produced authentic results as well as limitations, difficulties and obstacles in the process of recovery of illegally-appropriated and lost assets.

On behalf of the leaders of Hanoi, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai highly valued the comments and recommendations of the working delegation, and pledged to promote the good results, overcome the difficulties and fix the shortcomings in order to achieve more positive results in recovering illegally-appropriated and lost assets in cases of corruption and economic crimes in the time to come.
