Ambassadors asked to promote national image abroad

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese diplomatic agencies abroad for the 2017-2020 term to work hard to promote the image of Vietnam to the world at a meeting with them on July 14.

Stressing the significance of State diplomacy and the important role of ambassadors, he expressed hope that the diplomats will foster Vietnam’s relations with their host countries in all fields, including economy, trade, investment, education and tourism.

They should also introduce improvements in Vietnam’s investment environment in order to attract more investments, he asked.

The PM held that the sound external policy that Vietnam is implementing is afavourable condition for the diplomats to fulfil their assigned talks.

Highlighting the huge overseas Vietnamese community of 4.5 million, he said that ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese diplomatic agencies abroad should provide all possible support for expatriates to help settle their lives in the host countries and look towards the homeland.

At the meeting, the diplomats vowed to exert every effort to maintain and promote internal solidarity and complete their tasks, contributing to bolstering partnerships between Vietnam and the host countries, promoting the image of Vietnam to the world and further enhancing the country’s position in the world arena.
