8-floor karaoke bar on fire

At about 6 p.m September 17th, a fire broke out at a karaoke bar, located at 85G, Nguyễn Khang, Yên Hòa, Cầu Giấy (Hanoi).

Firefighting Division No.3 cooperated with others related agencies and forces to conduct necessary tasks as the fire stood a possibility to spread further. Firefighting Division No.3 and functional forces managed to control traffic flows as the route suffers traffic conjunction during rush hours, seek sufficient water supplies and plan to fight the fire in two main directions, including indoor stairs of the building and ladder of fire engine   outside of the scene.

According to authorities, the fire burned the bar’s front billboard then spread to 4th and 5th through 8th floor of the building. Flames were followed by piercing bang. The incident happened when the heavy traffic was flowing through the area and witnessed by huge crowd nearby.

Firefighters managed to put out the fire, however, they met difficulty due to the dense cloud of smoke.

By 10 p.m, relevant forces still manage to put out the fire, however, it is a question whether anyone was still trapped inside.

The fire is said to burn down almost everything on each floor and still smoldered on 5th floor. As said by the bar’s manager, there was 5 or 6 people at the scene by the time the fire started by they managed to evacuate.

Several pictures of the scenes as shared on the Internet.
