21 APEC leaders to attend APEC Economic Leaders’ Retreat

PSNews – All 21 leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies have confirmed their attendance at the upcoming APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week in Vietnam’s Danang city.

The information was revealed by Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice Chairman of the APEC 2017 National Committee Bui Thanh Son at a press briefing in Hanoi on November 2.

The APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, themed “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering A Shared Future”, will take place from November 6-11.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, during the APEC High-level week, State President Tran Dai Quang will chair the 25th APEC Economic Leaders’ Retreat. The meeting will focus on evaluating the APEC’ cooperation in the past and rolling out new directions for the next years.

The State President will also chair the meeting between APEC economic leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council, the APEC – ASEAN Informal Dialogue, the official welcome ceremony for the APEC’ leaders and their spouses, and the gala dinner and cultural performance on the evening of November 10.

President Tran Dai Quang will deliver a remark at the opening ceremony of the APEC CEO Summit, which will take place from October 8 to 11.

His spouse, Nguyen Thi Hien, will host the APEC Leaders’ Spouse Program on November 11 in Da Nang and nearby Hoi An ancient city.

The Vietnam Business Summit will be held on November 7 in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc who will deliver a keynote speech.
