18 authors win Ho Chi Minh and State Awards on literature and arts

PSNews-A ceremony to present the 2017 Ho Chi Minh and State Awards for Literature and Arts was organized at the Hanoi Opera House.

President Tran Dai Quang attended and chaired the ceremony. The event saw the presence of various senior officials of the Party and State, and leaders of ministries and localities.

In 2017, 18 authors (co-authors) were presented with the Ho Chi Minh Award by the State President, including musician Doãn Nho, Prof. Dr. People’s Artist Le Ngoc Canh (aka. Ly Lai Anh), People's Artist Chu Thuy Quynh, Dr. Tran Dinh Spok, author Nguyen The Khoan (Mich Quang), Prof. People’s Artist. Nguyen Trong Bang, Associate Prof. Trieu Dat Hien (Chu Minh), author Nguyen Xuan Thieu, musician Hoang Phi Hong (Hoang Ha, Cam La), writer Tran Huu Mai, musician Thuan Yen, poet Xuan Quynh Dinh Ngoc Lien, poet Thu Bon, researcher Ninh Viet Giao, sculptor Ta Quang Bao, People's Artist Trần Bảng and photographer Luong Nghia Dung.

Additionally, a number of authors were also posthumously honored with the State Awards. These include researchers, artists and culture managers, who had made large contributions to Vietnam’s literature and arts.

Speaking at the ceremony, State President Tran Dai Quang emphasized that the community of artists was formed, trained and developed during the glorious revolutionary cause of the nation. They are a loyal force to the Party, Fatherland and people, symbolizing patriotism, national pride, professional enthusiasm, and making many contributions to the revolutionary literature and art of the nation in the new era. They all have deserved the Noble Title “Artist and Figher.”

The Party, State and people have always recognized and appreciated their high sense of creativity and devotion of generations of artists, who have contributed to consolidating, developing and glorifying the revolutionary literature and art over the past time.

President Tran Dai Quang stressed that the authors who were honored with the Ho Chi Minh and State Awards for Literature and Arts in 2017 as they with their creativity, talents and endless efforts had created  works and projects of special values in terms of ideological contents and art forms. They have long-run profound positive impacts on society, effectively serving the revolutionary cause, contributing significantly to the development of the country's literature and art.

On this occasion, President Tran Dai Quang suggested that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and Central agencies, branches and localities continue to take care of and encourage artists to bring into full play their talent and creativity to foster national literature and arts with a full sense of social responsibility and civic duty.
