In her closing speech, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked law verification and making agencies to collect opinions of the lawmakers at this meeting on six draft bills before submitting them to the legislature.

She requested the NA Committee for Legal Affairs and NA Secretary General to coordinate with relevant agencies to complete the 2018 programme on law and ordinance and revise the 2017 programme.

The NA Standing Committee will announce in writing the principles, contents and targets of the middle-term public investment plan, she said.

The Government, the State Auditor General, and the NA Committee for Finance and Budget will conduct a formal examination on the State budget balance in 2015 before submitting to the NA Standing Committee at the 10th session.

The NA Standing Committee proposed the Government entrust the NA Committee for Finance and Budget to make an official inspection on the Government’s report on thrift practice and wastefulness prevention in 2016 and report to the legislature.

The NA Committee for Science, Technology, and Environment was tasked to finalise a draft resolution on the supervision of implementation of policies and laws on food safety, while the Supreme People’s Court was directed to work with the NA Committee for Justice to complete the working placement project of the People’s Court.

Chairwoman Ngan said the NA Standing Committee approved the establishment of four wards in Sam Son town – which will be promoted to Sam Son city in the north central coastal province of Thanh Hoa.

Deputies also ratified the appointment of 24 Vietnamese ambassadors to work in some countries according to the Government’s recommendations, and adopted a draft joint resolution between the NA Standing Committee, the Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on social supervision and criticism.

Two ministers fielded questions at the Q&A part to ease a number of public concern, Ngan said.

Lawmakers also gave their opinions on the draft Law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on credit organisations and the draft resolution on handling bad debts.
