Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang welcomed the U.S. enterprises and investors to visit and work with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and stated that the economic and trade relations between Vietnam and the United States are expanding rapidly. Vietnam is currently the 16th largest trading partner and likely to be one of the 10 largest trade partners of the United States. The U.S. is now Vietnam’s third largest trade partner.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always welcomes and create a stable good environment for foreign companies, including U.S. ones, to do long-term business in the country. He stressed that the Vietnamese side will provide much support for U.S. companies in surveying the market, marketing their products, expanding their business and investing in local infrastructure and energy.

Over the past years, the Vietnamese Government has made efforts to complete its legal system in the context of globalization, actively participated in international conventions, signed a number of bilateral and multilateral economic agreements in order to create favorable conditions for foreign firms, including U.S. ones, to invest and do business in the country.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that Vietnam will have both opportunities and challenges when it becomes the Chair of ASEAN in 2020 and the non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 period; as a result, the country wishes to receive more support from the United States to fullfil these tasks.

On behalf of the delegation of U.S enterprises and investors, Mr. Kurt Campbell highly appreciated the developments in the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in the past time and affirmed that this would serve an important premise for the two sides to deepen the existing cooperation fields and expand the cooperation toward other fields in the coming time.

Mr. Kurt Campbell hoped that the Vietnamese Government in general and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in particular would continue supporting U.S. companies in doing business in Vietnam and in expanding trade cooperation with Vietnamese partners, contributing to strengthening relations between the two countries in the future.
