Vietnamese Buddhism has consistently upheld the spirit of “protecting the nation and serving the people” while accompanying the nation in promoting social ethics, strengthening great national unity, and advancing national development.

PSNews - The bell was discovered in 1958 on the Do Son coast near Hai Phong. The bell is an icon of the establishment of Buddhism in Vietnam under the Ly and Tran dynasties.

Since its introduction into Vietnam, Buddhism has integrated into the Vietnamese social life and become an important element in the national culture, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said in a reception for a delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) after the success of the 9th National Buddhist Congress on November 29. ​

Local authorities in the northern province of Bac Giang have started initial steps to restore ancient relics on the West Yen Tu mountain range, where King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong (1258-1308) studied and practiced Buddhism.

The first Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Buddhist Leaders’ Conference was held in the Lao capital city of Vientiane on November 12, aiming to promote the development of Buddhism in the countries as well as regional exchange in the religion.
