Present at the meeting were also Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Army and Commander of the Gendarmerie of the Kingdom of Cambodia General Sao Sokha.

Minister To Lam emphasized that the relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and between the two ministries in particular has developed in breadth and depth in all fields, of which national security and defense cooperation at all levels always receives much attention from leaders.

Over the past year, the two countries' senior leaders have maintained visits and meetings to further deepen the relationship of "good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation".

Minister To Lam expressed his pleasure when the Vietnamese People's Public Security Forces and the Cambodian National Police successfully organized a conference on border security cooperation in October 2022, saying that this demonstrated the two sides’ determination to strengthen the fight against transnational crimes in the context of increased crime activities in the post-COVID-19 time.

Minister To Lam affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam is ready to support, share experiences, and coordinate with the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia to ensure security for major political, cultural and sports events in Cambodia, including elections for the National Assembly of Cambodia, Sea games 32 in 2023, and elections for the Cambodian Senate in 2024.
