Over the past time, the Son La Provincial Police Department, in coordination with under-ministerial police departments, the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department and the Thai Binh Provincial Police Department detected and investigated a transnational drug trafficking line from Laos to Vietnam.

By now, the police have arrested 5 suspects and seized 44 kilograms of drugs, a gun and many other exhibits.

The elimination of the criminal group is an outstanding achievement of the Son La Provincial Police Department, demonstrating its excellent professional expertise and high sense of responsibility in implementing directions of the Public Security Party Central Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating transnational drug-related crime according to the motto "Eliminating the whole criminal band other than parts of it, and arrest the ringleader".

The success in investigating the case also reflected the close and effective collaboration among the involved under-ministerial police departments and police departments of localities, contributing to ensuring security and order, deterring criminals, preventing crime and strengthening people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praised the police department for its victory.

The Deputy Minister requested the Son La Provincial Police Department to closely coordinate with relevant police units and agencies to expand the investigation of the case, arrest all fugitives and early finish the documentation so as to prosecute all the accused in line with the laws.

The Deputy Minister wished the police department more success in performing its assigned tasks in the coming time.
