Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang receives delegation from Legal Affairs Committee of Yunnan province

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang had a meeting with a delegation of the Legal Affairs Committee of Yunnan Province (China) led by Secretary of the Legal Affairs Committee of Yunnan Province Yang Chenglin, on October 31, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that the law enforcement agencies of the two countries as well as of Yunnan province and the related local-level police units of Vietnam continue to thoroughly and effectively implement the memoranda of understanding, cooperation agreements signed by ministerial level leaders of the two sides, and cooperation mechanisms at the provincial- and district- level. 

The two sides should also maintain contact and exchange periodically and when issues emerge, join efforts to deploy plans to ensure national security, address cross-border crimes, especially criminal cases, drug trafficking, human trafficking, illegal immigration, economic offences, monetary fraud, crime with the use of high technology or weapons, and arrest wanted criminals.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Yang Chenglin said, the Legal Affairs Committee of Yunnan Province tries its best to realize and implement security cooperation agreements with departments, branches and localities of Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between the two agencies and two countries. 

He also expressed consensus with Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang's opinions and ideas, saying: “We hope that the two sides will maintain information exchange, and  deploy joint measures to prevent all types of crimes along the shared border lines."
